We begin our journey in picturesque Voćin, visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Voćin, before the road leads us to the Geo-info Centre. Here, we discover fascinating stories about the geological past of Papuk, a UNESCO Geopark, while interactive displays and multimedia presentations introduce us to the world of volcanoes, fossils, and diverse ecosystems.

Next, we set out to explore Papuk, a mountain that enchants with its vast forests, striking rock formations, and crystal-clear streams. A gentle walk to the most breathtaking viewpoints offers spectacular panoramas of nature in its purest form. Refreshed by the crisp mountain air, we reach the Mountain Lodge at Jankovac, where we enjoy delicious local specialities.

After lunch, we continue towards Orahovica, where Ružica Grad, one of the largest medieval fortifications in Croatia, rises above the town. We uncover its mystical stories, walk along the ancient walls, and soak in the historical spirit of this magnificent site.

In the late afternoon, we arrive at the Višnjica Rural Estate, a place that preserves tradition while offering a peaceful escape from the bustle of everyday life. Here, we enjoy horse riding under the expert guidance of experienced instructors. After spending relaxing moments with these noble animals, we indulge in a delicious dinner featuring rich local delicacies, followed by an overnight stay in the charming surroundings of this historic retreat.

Our second day begins in Višnjica with a fragrant and delightful breakfast. Refreshed and full of energy, we head to the Drava Story Visitor Centre, where we explore the rich flora and fauna, learn about wetland birds, and immerse ourselves in the serene beauty of this area. After the educational segment, we embark on a canoeing adventure along the Drava River, navigating its tranquil backwaters and enjoying the rhythmic flow of the water, which brings a sense of freedom and connection with nature.

Following an active morning, it's time for a hedonistic break at the Apolitico Winery, where our hosts welcome us with exquisite wines and a delectable snack. A tasting of local varieties is accompanied by stories about the vineyards, tradition, and passion for winemaking, with each sip revealing a new dimension of this remarkable region.

The final destination of our two-day journey is Virovitica, where we explore the city's rich heritage. Strolling through streets steeped in history, we arrive at Pejačević Castle, a baroque masterpiece. Within its grand walls lies the City Museum, which takes us on a journey through the cultural and historical treasures of Virovitica. In the late afternoon, filled with impressions and treasured memories, we return home, enriched by experiences that will stay with us for a lifetime.
